Mr Trick & Wrongtom: Show #40 (June’09)
Sometimes when posting these shows on line, even I find myself staring at the tracklisting and thinking “did we really play all that?”. I mean, look at it… Where else would you find glam twonks Kiss cosying up alongside former Moloko drummer Davide De Rose? Or west coast rappers DJ Quik & Kurupt alongside a lesser-known track from Lousiville post-rock godfathers Slint? My guess? Nowhere else.
This show had a few highlights, not least the look on Tom’s face on hearing “Mr Blackwell” from Kiss’s mythical/notorious/just-plain-shite* album “Music From The Elder”, so get listening to hear a customarily broad selection that even includes Jah Scouse. Yes, you read that right, Jah Scouse. Check the man himself on the back cover!
Tracklisting:
Floormaster Squeeze -- Kick Out The James (Again)
DJ Quik & Kurupt -- 9 Times Outta 10
Slint -- Pat
The Smiths -- Paint A Vulgar Picture
Sketchie -- Salute To Alone
Dave De Rose -- Dreams
Kiss -- Mr Blackwell
Jah Scouse -- Merge
Soundbed: Jungle Drums -- Walk (inst.)

Featured video for this week is a fine one we found of Kiss attempting to play a track from “Music From The Elder” some 23 years later… and failing miserably. Worth watching entirely for the Aussie fans’ interjection at the end…
