With Tom just back from a trip to NYC, this show was sure to contain some fine purchases from the likes of TurntableLab and other heavenly vinyl spots. The Inconsolables, Super Cat, Ssion, Magic Mike and DJ Buck all feature from the Wrongest one, with Trick’s selections including Sly Stone affiliate Jim Ford, current Hot New Act™ Neon Neon and his beloved Trenchmouth.
Coupled with conversation ranging from how epiphanies get fewer and further between as you get older through to whether we should take the station manager hostage and beat him with leather straps, this is, well, just another show from Messrs Trick and Tom really…
Enjoy!

So, our first show of 2008, and what a fine show it is too. Recorded and aired last Friday (the 1st Feb) on Resonance FM, this show took in anything from Mush Records’ Pedro to Dennis Bovell, Donovan to This Heat, we played tunes and speculated on such pressing issues as whether we should do a themed show based on the musicians who had slept with Winona Ryder, what the hell that accent was that Donovan spoke with on Atlantis and whether house music was actually good or not… all augmented by text messages from our honourable listeners. And John Amino.
Best show yet? Damn right.

A lot of people have been chasing for a podcast of our Christmas Special that aired live on Resonance last December (the 21st, to be precise), so I’m pleased to say it is finally online for you to wrap your loving ears around.
I should also outline that we’re now going to podcast these shows on a separate feed to the Rhythm Incursions one, for a couple of reasons. Firstly, there are other Rhythm Inc podcasts I needed to get online, and I felt these live shows would get lost in amongst them. Secondly, its quite clear these Trick n’ Tom shows are developing a fanbase of their own, and so it only makes sense to provide them separately for people on that basis.
So: if you need a URL to paste into your podcatcher of choice, it is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/mrtrickandwrongtom. If you’re an iTunes user, search for us in the Podcast Directory as usual. I’ve only just added the feed, so maybe give it a couple of days to get approved and all that.
In the meantime though, download the show here (78Mb). Enjoy!

So, with some trepidation we finally got some live time in the spanking new Resonance FM studio to shoot the breeze, share some tunes and generally catch up. As ever, the format involved us both selecting old and new tracks, which this time covered anyone from Coco Beware to Bad Brains, Boom Bip to those Prinzhorn chaps on DFA…
A tracklisting will follow (we promise!), but for now enjoy the show…
(And for those of you not subscribing to our podcast, click here to download!)
PLEASE NOTE: the first two shows have a different naming structure to the rest, as they were originally broadcast as part of Rhythm Incursions and are titled as such.

So: we are now officially separating the Trick & Wrongtom shows from the Rhythm Incursions show, as both myself and Tom have agreed it just kinda works better that way, especially given these shows tend to leap outside the general remit of Rhythm Incursions. With that though, we are re-podcasting the original shows up to the present for your listening enjoyment and our archival anal retentiveness…
So, here is the show myself and Wrongtom recorded in September last year. This show followed the usual format of the Trick/Tom monthlies, with each of us selecting 2 old and 2 new tracks to air and discuss. Tracks aired this time included Son Seals, Paul White, King Curtis, The Telescopes, Cactus… and the theme tune from legendary Ronnie Corbett sitcom “Sorry!”. No, seriously.
Click here to download the show – or podcast subscribers sit tight as it’ll most likely be downloading for you right now…
Enjoy!
