Rolling in for show 2, we battled the usual technical gremlins to deliver a spread of music taking in slow jams, reggae glory, math rockin’ guitar heroics, 808 drum classics and the dumbest 80s party anthem of all time, courtesy of Flipper.
[..]With some trepidation we step out for our first show since leaving Resonance FM in Dec. 2009. Battling a few technical gremlins we toured the usual broad array of treats, taking in anything from poorly freestyled classical to rap reggae to southern harmonies to blaxpoitational soul. [..]Friends, after much hinting and veiled tweets, we can now confirm that we will be returning to the digital airwaves on August 31st at 7pm sharp. You can listen live via Ustream (we’ll get a box up on the right to tune in easily), but we’ll also be podcasting it and posting it up on Mixcloud so you can embed it on your own site and generally spread it around.

I was but a fresh faced kid when I first heard David “Smiley Culture” Emmanuel’s dulcet tones gracing my speakers, I can’t remember who’s copy of Great BritishMC’s I was listening to as I certainly didn’t own it at the time but I was won over by the sparse fast chat intro of Smiley’s Slam Bam and I’ve remained a fan of the style to this day.
[..]An international chart topping career in Reggae, spanning over 30 years since he began recording with Byron Lee to the obvious high point of being remixed by me (i jest of course). In between he recorded two of the most iconic lovers rock tracks with “My Only Lover”, considered by many to be the 1st lovers record, and of course the now universal “Night Nurse”
