Mr Trick & Wrongtom: Show #42 (July’09) with special guest Greg Belson
While Bill Brewster bucked the worrying trend of not showing up to a Trick & Tom guest slot we couldn’t guarantee that others would follow suit, so when we asked Greg Belson to step up to the plate, the fact he lives thousands of miles from the Resonance studios may seem a little wishful thinking to some. Luckily Belson’s as reliable in that department as he is with his selections which you can now marvel at in all their podcasted glory.
There’s little to no chance of you recognizing even one of these records, all hand picked from some of the darkest dingiest digging spots in California, and no doubt if you’re familiar with our shtick then that’s exactly how you like it. We can’t promise you’ll find any of them in your local supermarket or hiding on a cheeky zshare link anywhere but we can tell you some solid gold’s been mined in thar hills, from the filthiest of funk to some sublime dancefloor gospel and Mr Belson will in no way disappoint.
As usual the careless banter runs thick and fast with Greg giving us the low down on the world of deep funk trading, sharing the tale behind dancefloor stormer “Silly Savage” and doing one of the greatest mock red-neck accents you’re likely to hear this side of Tom Hanks being shot in the buttocks.
