Area Code 615With plenty of time to prepare for this week’s show, you KNOW we were going to bring some broad but brilliant tunes for your delectation. So, kicking off with the insane Country & Western acid funk of Area Code 615, we then veer back into metal territory for the first time in a while with Justin Broadrick’s more obscure Sweet Tooth project before taking a change in format slightly by having Tom air three go-go tracks back to back from Tilt (aka Trouble Funk), Arkadion and The Junk Yard Band. Then its into tablist territory with the brilliant -- and fully transcribed and notated -- Antimatter from DJ Radar, back to the bovine dancefloor styles courtesy of The Magic Fly and finally down with some Hijack-sampling dub funk from Scottish hardcore merchants Dawson. Phew!

Tracklisting:
Area Code 615 -- Scotland
Sweet Tooth -- Fat City
Tilt -- Arkade Funk
Arkadion -- Torque
The Junk Yard Band -- The Word
Radar -- Antimatter
The Magic Fly -- Two Planets feat. Ricky Ranking (Mr Benn Bambaclog Remix)
Dawson -- Bodies Under The Floor

Soundbed: Zinc -- Amazon

I really have to pass a huge thanks onto Tom,

I heard a snippet of (what I now know is )the Junkyard Band’s The Word track on an old skate vid about 15 years ago, The Video was from the late 80s ( might have been Powells Ban This..) I even managed a dodgy recording onto a cassette (achieved by holding a crappy mic to the speaker of the TV onto my tape deck), That Bass just really hooked me, there was no lyrics in the snippet, it was that short, then mixed into somthing else. The cassette is long gone but the snippet always stayed in my head, however not knowing who it was I was never able to actively search for it. I always thought it might pop up one day, today was that day! I got a shiver down my spine when it came on, it’s taken 15 years afterall!

You have truly made my day. I thank you sincerely.

Keep up the excellent work guys.

    Ray
