Mr Trick & Wrongtom: Show #12 (October ‘08)
Given we’d been on something of a break prior to our last show, we felt it was time we stepped up with another show to make up for that. God willing (i.e. lives and work allowing) we’ll be bringing you shows fortnightly from now on…
Commencing with what can only be described as the kind of start to a show John Peel would have jealous of (i.e. technically risible), we step up with your usual selection of mostly slept-on classics, covering anything from punk funk from the early 80s to one killer remix courtesy of man-of-the-moment Nosaj Thing. Factor in some heavyweight digital dub, some insanely fonky Cambodian psyche (yes, you read that right) and some blistering 4/4 folk shuffle grooves and, well, you’ve got much the same as usual really: songs you might not know, but will surely want to know much better once we’re done.
Also, as you’ll hear on the show, we got talking about masses of superheroes or sci-fi characters. Tom once witnessed a horde of stormtroopers in NYC, whilst I witnessed a massed brass band of Spider-men in Bournemouth, of all places. So: can YOU top that? Let us know!
